Protective Spray Coatings

Steel Coatings Spray 1

Steel structural integrity is damaged by fire; intumescent paint for steel provides protection from heat, allowing crucial time for safe evacuation of premises and allows firefighters more time to get a fire under control.

When Temperatures reach between 200/250ºC, intumescent paints react by expanding up to  50 times their original size, forming a solid foam protective barrier.  Steel will begin to lose strength at about 300ºC, deteriorating rapidly when temperatures exceed 400ºC.

House fires burn at about 600ºC and industrial fires can be much more intense, causing significant risk for building and human safety. Intumescent paint for steelwork will protect critical structures and extend the burn time for up to 2 hours.
